Homemade Chicken Nuggets

Ingredients

• 500g boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
• 1 tsp salt
• ½ tsp black pepper

• 1½ cups (150g) breadcrumbs or panko breadcrumbs

For Frying

Method

1. Season the chicken pieces with the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and thyme. Let them marinate for 15–30 minutes.

2. Place the flour in one bowl, the beaten eggs in another, and the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.

4. Heat the vegetable oil to 170–175°C (340–350°F).

5. Fry the nuggets in batches for 4–5 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.

6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

2. Arrange the coated nuggets on a lined baking tray and lightly brush or spray with oil.
3. Bake for 18–20 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and fully cooked.
