Macaroni casserole

Here comes the world’s best macaroni casserole with minced meat, which you can quickly make yourself! The pasta casserole also contains a tomato sauce and the whole thing is baked with cheese – SO delicious!

FOR THE MACARONI CASSEROLE:

1 onion
1 clove of garlic
a few sprigs of oregano
4 carrots (approx. 250 g)
500 g ground beef
2 tbsp olive oil
1 can of chopped tomatoes (400 g)
400 ml vegetable stock
300 g macaroni
a little salt
a little freshly ground pepper
100 g grated gratin cheese (40% fat in dry matter)

Method

1. Grease a tall, round casserole dish (Ø 22 cm) with olive oil. Peel the onion and garlic and dice finely.

2. Wash the oregano, drain and pluck the leaves. Peel, clean and coarsely grate the carrots. Fry the minced meat with onion and garlic cubes in a pan in olive oil for 4-5 minutes.

3. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees circulating air (top and bottom heat: 200 degrees). Add the chopped tomatoes and vegetable stock and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Fold in the macaroni and grated carrots and season generously with salt and pepper.

4. Pour into the casserole dish and bake in the preheated oven for approx. 30 minutes until golden brown, sprinkled with cheese. Take the casserole out of the oven, sprinkle with oregano and serve.
