BANANA CHIPS
Ingredients:
2 plantains
Vegetable oil, preferably sunflower
a pinch of salt
Preparation:
1. The first thing you should do is peel the bananas. To do this, cut both ends and, with a knife, make vertical cuts to remove all the skin without problems. Ideally, the plantains should be green, but if you only have ripe ones, don’t worry, you can also cook them.
2. When you have the two peeled plantains, you should cut them into very thin slices so that the result is a crispy fried plantain like potato chips. You can also cut the red ones a bit thicker and crush them with the bottom of a glass, for example, to make them thinner. Add salt to taste.
3. Now you should put plenty of sunflower oil to heat in a pan. When it is hot, add the plantain rojadas and fry them as if they were potatoes. Move them from time to time so they don’t stick and don’t remove them from the pan until they’re golden brown.
4. When they are ready, place kitchen paper on a plate and put the fried banana slices on it so that it absorbs all the oil. When the paper is soaked in oil, remove it and you will have your fried plantains ready to eat.
