Flammkuchen toast

Our recipe for Alsatian-style tarte flambée toast with fine ham cubes and spicy cheese is not only super delicious, but also the perfect party snack!

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE CREAM

250 g crème fraîche
50 g sour cream (or sour cream)
½ tsp salt
a little black pepper

FOR THE TOPPING

250 g raw ham cubes
1 medium onion
200 g grated cheese (e.g. Emmental)

ALSO

12 slices of wheat toast
1 bunch of chives

PREPARATION

1. Toast the slices of toast in the toaster for 3 minutes until light brown. Line a baking tray with baking paper and place the toast on the baking tray.

2. For the cream, stir the crème fraîche with the sour cream, salt and pepper until smooth. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees top and bottom heat (fan oven 180 degrees). Put 2 tablespoons of the cream on each slice of toast.

3. Spread the ham cubes on the cream. Peel the onion, halve it and cut it into very thin slices. Spread the onion slices on the toast. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of grated cheese on each.

4. Wash the chives, dry them and cut them into very thin rolls. Bake the toast in the preheated oven for 12 minutes until golden brown. Sprinkle the toast with fresh chives after baking. Serve and enjoy! Enjoy!
