Banana brownies

Banana brownies are so juicy, quick to make and always taste good. Whether for the cake table, at work or on the go – we love the little chocolate treats.

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE DOUGH

3 bananas
300 g dark chocolate
250 g butter
3 eggs (size M)
250 g sugar
50 ml neutral oil (e.g. sunflower oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
200 g wheat flour (type 405)
30 g baking cocoa
1 tsp baking powder

ALSO
Some butter for the mold
Some flour for the mold

PREPARATION

1st step
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top/bottom heat (fan oven: 160 degrees). Grease a baking pan (20 cm x 23 cm) with some butter and dust with flour. For the dough, peel the bananas and mash them with a fork to a fine puree.

2nd step
Finely chop the dark chocolate and place it together with the butter in a metal bowl over a hot  Melt in a water bath. Beat eggs and sugar until foamy, then mix in the melted chocolate mixture and oil. Stir in mashed bananas and vanilla extract.

Step 3
Mix flour, baking cocoa and baking powder in a bowl to sift the dough. Mix briefly, then pour into the prepared tin and smooth out.

Step 4
Bake the banana brownies in the preheated oven for approx. 30-35 minutes. After baking, allow to cool for at least 2 hours. The recipe makes approx. 12 chocolate-banana brownies. If packed airtight at room temperature, the banana-chocolate brownies will keep for at least 3 days.

Brown bananas for the best taste
The chocolate brownies with banana are perfect for using up overripe bananas. If you don’t feel like baking right now, you can also peel, mash and freeze the brown bananas to use at a later date.
