Cream cheese frosting

Cream cheese frosting is so creamy.  You can also use the simple cupcake cream with cream cheese for cakes and tarts. This recipe belongs in every recipe collection.


100 g butter
100 g powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
175 g double cream cheese


Step 1
Mix the soft butter until creamy, sift the powdered sugar and stir in a tablespoon at a time. Mix in the vanilla extract.

Step 2
Mix the cream cheese by hand in a small mixing bowl until smooth. Mix 3 tablespoons of the butter mixture with the cream cheese.

Add the butter-cream cheese mixture to the remaining butter and mix everything together briefly (really just 10 seconds!!!) and vigorously. The frosting with cream cheese is enough for 12 cupcakes and will keep in the fridge for at least 1 week.

Our tip

Only stir briefly

After the cream cheese has been added, the cupcake frosting with cream cheese should only be stirred briefly.

Because once the cream cheese loses its stability, the cream cheese topping will no longer be stable.
