Marbled desserts or sweets, such as marbled sponge cake, are very popular recipes for home cooks who enjoy baking. And in the following, a simple and rich recipe is presented.

Ingredients

This delicious recipe is quite simple, with few ingredients that are easy to find or you may already have at home. To prepare it you need:

• 4 medium eggs.

• 140 grams of sugar.

• 180 ml of sunflower oil.

• 120 ml of milk.

• 1 and ½ teaspoons of vanilla.

• 300 grams of pastry flour (all use).

• 1 envelope of chemical yeast.

• 25 grams of cocoa powder.

• 1 teaspoon of instant coffee.

• A pinch of salt.

• Butter to grease.

Steps

Once you have collected all the ingredients that are needed to prepare the marbled cake, you only have to follow a few simple steps. Remember that you will need waxed paper and a 20 cm round mold:

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 175ºC. Grease the mold with butter and place a sheet of parchment paper on the bottom.

Step 2

In a bowl, beat the eggs with sugar for about 5 minutes. Then add the oil, milk and vanilla and beat until everything is smooth.

Step 3

Separate the mixture equally in 2 containers. In one of these, 170 grams of flour, a pinch of salt and half of the yeast will be sifted. In the other, add the rest of the flour, cocoa, coffee and salt.

Step 4

Beat both mixtures until they are very homogeneous.

step 5

Once this is done, start assembling the cake. 3 tablespoons of each mixture should be poured into the container, alternating between white and chocolate, always pouring in the center, being careful not to splash.

step 6

When both mixtures are finished, bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out completely clean. Once the time has passed, it must be demoulded and allowed to cool on a wire rack.

Your marbled sponge cake is now ready, which you can divide into 8 good portions, to accompany with a cup of tea or perhaps with a scoop of ice cream. There are many ways to achieve the marbled effect on these cupcakes, but this one is pretty easy. We invite you to try it.
