Neapolitan flan is a traditional Mexican dessert similar to flan, but with a touch of cream cheese.  The air fryer is a modern alternative to cook it quickly and evenly.

Ingredients

For the caramel:

• 1/2 cup granulated sugar

For the flan:

• 4 eggs

• 1 can (approximately 400 g) of condensed milk

• 1 can (approximately 370 ml) evaporated milk

• 200 g of cream cheese

• 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract

Air Fryer Neapolitan Flan combines the classic smoothness of flan with the efficiency of the air fryer, resulting in a creamy, golden dessert with a unique texture.

Instructions

Prepare the caramel:

1. In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, add the granulated sugar.
2. Stir constantly until the sugar melts and turns golden in color.
3. Quickly pour the hot caramel into individual flan molds, covering the bottom of each mold.  Work quickly, as the caramel will harden quickly.

Prepare the flan mixture:

1. In a blender, add the eggs, condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream cheese and vanilla essence.
2. Mix at high speed until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous mixture.

Pour the mixture into the molds:

1. Pour the flan mixture over the caramel in the individual molds, filling them almost to the top.

Cooking in the air fryer:

1. Preheat the air fryer to 160°C (320°F).
2. Place the molds with the flan mixture in the air fryer basket.  If necessary, you can cook them in batches, depending on the size of your fryer.
3. Cook for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until the flans are firm around the edges but still have a slight jiggle in the center.

Cool and unmold:

1. Once cooked, remove the molds from the fryer and let them cool to room temperature.
2. Then refrigerate them in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until completely cold and firm.

Unmold and serve:

1. To unmold, run a knife along the edge of each flan to loosen it from the mold.
2. Place a plate upside down over the mold and, holding both, quickly turn it over so that the flan falls with the caramel on top.

Ready!  Now you have delicious Neapolitan flans prepared in your air fryer.  You can decorate them with fresh fruit, a little whipped cream or chopped nuts before serving.  Enjoy this classic Mexican dessert with a modern touch!
