The recipe doesn’t work with low-fat margarine! It contains too much water!
Be sure to sift the powdered sugar and cornstarch so that there are no lumps and they melt really gently.

Ingredients for about 60 pieces:

250g margarine (or e.g. Sanella)
100g powdered sugar
50g flour
250g cornstarch (corn starch)
1 packet of vanilla sugar

Preheat the oven to 160°C fan.

The Sanella should be at room temperature. Sift the flour and cornstarch. Pass the powdered sugar through the sieve so that there are no lumps in the dough later. Mix all the ingredients with a hand mixer until they are nice and creamy. This can take a moment.
Be patient 😉

Dust your hands with flour, use a small spoon to scoop out the dough and form small balls. Place the balls on a baking tray lined with baking paper and press them flat with a floured fork.

Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes. They are very light! So don’t wait until they get dark!  🙂

Allow to cool on a rack.

Store in a tin.
