Banana bread with chocolate chunks

Banana bread with chocolate chunks is a comforting and indulgent twist on the classic favorite. The moist and tender banana bread is elevated with the addition of rich, melted chocolate chunks, creating pockets of gooey sweetness throughout each slice.

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE BOX MOLD (25 X 11 CM)
a little fat
some wheat flour

DOUGH

3 bananas (ripe)
100 g Dr.  Oetker Chocolate Chunks Dark
2 eggs (size M)
120 g cane sugar or brown sugar
1 pack Dr.  Oetker vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
3 tbsp cooking oil, e.g.  B. sunflower oil
50 ml milk (4 tbsp)
1 tbsp lemon juice
250 g wheat flour
1 pack Dr.  Oetker Original Backin
100 g Dr.  Oetker roasted, chopped hazelnuts

PREPARATION

1. Prepare
Grease and flour the mold.  Peel 2 1/2 bananas and mash them with a fork.  Set aside the remaining banana and 1 tablespoon of the chocolate chunks.  Preheat oven.

Top and bottom heat: around 170 °C
Hot air: around 150°C

2. Prepare dough
Place eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt in a mixing bowl and beat with a mixer (stirrer) until frothy.  Stir in milk, oil and lemon juice. 

Mix the flour with the baking powder and the nuts and stir into the dough with the mashed bananas at the lowest setting. 

Stir in chunks.  Spread the dough in the mold.

Cut the remaining banana half into slices and place on the dough with the remaining chunks.  Place the pan on the rack in the oven.

Inset: lower third
Baking time: about 55 minutes.

Let the banana bread stand in the tin on a cake rack for 10 minutes, then loosen it, turn it out and let it cool.
