CLASSIC SCONES

ingredients:

*500g plain flour
*Pinch of sea salt
*1 1/4 tsp baking soda
*2 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
*110g vegan butter
*20g sugar
*1 beaten egg
*275ml buttermilk or milk (made mine with 1:1 plant milk + vegan yogΒ  )

πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ preheat oven to 220 degrees
πŸ‘©β€πŸ³sift flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt, then rub in butter to resemble breadcrumbs
πŸ‘©β€πŸ³stir in sugar
πŸ‘©β€πŸ³add buttermilk and egg
πŸ‘©β€πŸ³bring together and roll out 2cm thick
πŸ‘©β€πŸ³cut 12 ish scones (optional rest for 20mins so they look more uniform) and brush with some buttermilk
πŸ‘©β€πŸ³bake 10-12 mins
