Peanut butter cups

Peanut butter cups are an American classic. No one can resist the combination of chocolate and peanut butter!  With our recipe you can easily make them yourself.

INGREDIENTS (For 12 pieces)

175 g peanut butter (crunchy)
90 g powdered sugar
80 g butter
8 wholemeal butter biscuits
250 g dark chocolate
1 tbsp neutral cooking oil (e.g. sunflower oil)

PREPARATION

Step 1
Melt the peanut butter, powdered sugar and butter in a metal bowl over a water bath. Put the wholemeal butter biscuits in a freezer bag and grind them finely using a kitchen roll, then add them to the melted peanut butter mixture and mix everything together well.

2nd step
Spread the mixture into 12 silicone muffin cups or alternatively paper cups. Place the muffin cups in the freezer for about 60 minutes. In the meantime, roughly chop the dark chocolate coating, melt it over a water bath and mix with the oil.

3rd step
Remove the frozen peanut butter cookie mixture from the cups. Put the silicone cups back on the table. Put about 1 tablespoon of melted chocolate into each muffin cup, then pour the frozen mixture back into the muffin cups and finish with another tablespoon of melted dark chocolate.

4th step
Let the peanut butter cups set in the fridge for about 20 minutes, then take them out of the cups and serve. The peanut butter cups will keep in the fridge for at least 4 days.
